In the Kindergarten and 1st grade age division at Willow Creek we learned that our take home sheets weren't as effective as we would have hoped they'd be. Instead of the kids coloring them and giving them to their parents (with all the info of what the kids learned that day on the back) the kids were deciding to turn them into paper airplanes. Instead of parents connecting with their kids about what they learned, the papers ended up in the trash on the way out.
In an effort to be more effective in connecting with the kids and parents, I designed something they could take with them. The purpose is for them to hang it on their rear view mirror so they can connect in a fun way on their way home from church. There are 3 sections, Compete (a fun and friendly family competition about the lesson), Ask, a question about what they learned, and Repeat, say the verse in funny ways each week.
